The Escambia County
Commission's responsibilities include control of all
county public funds and property and the adoption of an
annual budget reflecting anticipated income and expenses.
Other major areas of responsibilities include
construction and maintenance of roads in the county
outside the city jurisdictions, providing services for
all county departments, purchasing supplies and equipment
related to county operations, providing a general support
function for all organizational activities such as
telephone support, supply support, mail processing, and
employee benefits.
The Escambia County Commission
meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 9 am in
the Commission Chambers on the 2nd floor of the Escambia
County Courthouse at 314 Belleville Avenue in Brewton.

County Administrator
The county administrator is appointed by the County Commission. The administrator is
responsible for implementing policy enacted by the
commissioners and for the day-to-day operation of county
government.
Some of the administrator's
duties include developing, implementing, and monitoring
all budget activities, overseeing all employment
practices pertaining to county employees, safekeeping all
securities and investments of the county, maintaining
financial and accounting records in compliance with the
standards of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board,
administering grant programs, managing payroll, and
supervising the purchasing of materials.
